An attractive bouquet of bright red fruits, cassis and background spice complement and contribute to the overall character of this wine. The rich yet savoury palate is focused and refined showing forest floor flavours and soft velvety tannins. This wine will continue to open and develop over the next 5-10 years.
The Syrah has been hand picked from a Single Vineyard Site in the Yarra Glen area of the Yarra Valley. The grapes were cold soaked for 10 days before the onset of a natural fermentation. 30% whole bunches were used in the ferment to give another dimension to the wine and to create some lovely depth in the mid palate. Once the wine was sugar dry, it was transferred to large format oak where it matured for 8 months before going to bottle.
